In 2026, Social Impact Day will mark its 10th anniversary. Throughout this journey, we have continually asked: “Where did the impact economy come from? What is it? Where is it headed?” While observing signs of structural and system change, we have explored the potential of the impact economy. This decade’s progresses and new challenges stand as a testament to the volatile yet steady expansion and deepening of the philosophy and practice of impact finance and management.
Now, we stand at the beginning of a new journey. This year’s theme, “A Journey of Co-creation,” symbolizes the start of a journey toward new horizons for society and the economy, as “Co-creation” across sectors and fields truly takes hold. An era has arrived where all actors—businesses, government, nonprofits, foundations, investors, researchers, and citizens—respectively bring their unique perspectives and strengths together to co-create the future.
This journey is not merely about collaboration; it is a challenge to “create together and move forward together.” Individuals from diverse backgrounds engage in dialogue, test and weave together a new value system, and advance toward realizing a sustainable economy and society. Within this process, every participant becomes an agent of transformation. Practices surrounding the impact economy are no longer the domain of a select few experts; they are evolving into something everyone can engage with and take ownership of.
As we mark our 10th anniversary, we look back on our journey and, building on the accumulated insights and connections, set our sights on the next horizon. Now is the time to forge new frontiers through the power of co-creation.
May this conference serve as a compass for the future, a place to meet fellow travelers and learn together.
