SIMI and Japan Impact-driven Financing Initiative present/Sponsored by Japan Post Insurance Co., Ltd. ”Impact Investing in Listed Equities and Enterprise Value”

The role of the private sector in generating impact is increasingly crucial, given that addressing global and local challenges has emerged as a pressing concern worldwide. Interest in impact investing is growing globally, and it is rising rapidly in Japan, with the launch of the Japan Impact-driven Financing Initiative (IDFI) in November 2021 and the release of draft Basic Guidelines for Impact Investing by the Financial Services Agency in June 2023.

The shift to seeking impact from among listed companies will have a significant effect on the economy due to their size, visibility and influence. It is essential to accelerate the impact-orientation of companies listed on the world’s stock markets, to accumulate practical experience of impact investing, and to share its know-how, in order for capital markets to demonstrate their capacity to help solve these global and local issues.

Based on this understanding, SIMI and IDFI, with the support of Japan Post Insurance Co., Ltd., presents this event featuring discussions by a variety of leading practitioners in this field in Japan.

We look forward to seeing you all at this event.
